Ezekiel 21:11 meaning and explanation
The sword is appointed to be polished, to be grasped in the hand. It is sharpened and polished, to be placed in the hand of the slayer.
Ezekiel 21:11, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Ezekiel is speaking to the exiles in Babylon, and here the LORD describes the sword of Babylon's king as a weapon prepared for a purpose. The Hebrew verb for "appointed" carries the sense of being set in place or assigned, so the sword is not random violence but a tool under God's direction.
