Ezekiel 23:1, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

This verse opens a new prophetic oracle in Ezekiel's ministry, addressed to the prophet himself, whom God repeatedly calls "son of man." Ezekiel was a priest among the exiles in Babylon, and the formula marks a fresh word from the LORD coming to him there. It introduces the allegory that follows, in which Samaria and Jerusalem are portrayed as two sisters who broke faith with God.
