Ezekiel 30:21 meaning and explanation

“Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. See, it has not been bound up for healing, or splinted for strength to hold the sword.

Ezekiel 30:21, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Ezekiel is speaking to the exiles in Babylon in the eleventh year, and God shows him Pharaoh of Egypt as a man with a broken arm. The arm means military strength, and the image says Egypt's power has already been shattered, with no one to set the bone or splint it so it can hold a sword.
