Ezekiel 45:9 meaning and explanation
For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Enough, O princes of Israel! Cease your violence and oppression, and do what is just and right. Stop dispossessing My people, declares the Lord GOD.’
Ezekiel 45:9, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Ezekiel 45:9 comes near the end of a vision of restored worship and land, and the Lord GOD speaks directly to the princes of Israel, the rulers responsible for governing the people. In the preceding verses God has assigned the prince a defined portion of land, and here he confronts the rulers' record of violence and oppression, the Hebrew words suggesting wrong done by force and the crushing of the vulnerable.
