Ezekiel 6:8 meaning and explanation

Yet I will leave a remnant, for some of you will escape the sword when you are scattered among the nations and throughout the lands.

Ezekiel 6:8, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

God speaks through Ezekiel to the exiles in Babylon, announcing judgment on the mountains and high places of Israel where the people had worshiped idols. Verse 8 comes in the middle of that sentence of doom, and it is a turn: "Yet." The Hebrew word for remnant, she'erit, means what is left over after a harvest or a battle.
