Galatians 4:28 meaning and explanation
Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
Galatians 4:28, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul is writing to Gentile believers in Galatia who were being pressured to take up circumcision and the law as the basis of their standing before God. He has just used Hagar and Sarah as an allegory of two covenants, and in verse 28 he applies it directly: the Galatians, like Isaac, are children born through God's promise rather than through ordinary human effort.
