Genesis 19:17 meaning and explanation
As soon as the men had brought them out, one of them said, “Run for your lives! Do not look back, and do not stop anywhere on the plain! Flee to the mountains, or you will be swept away!”
Genesis 19:17, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The two angels have just pulled Lot, his wife and his daughters out of Sodom, and one of them gives a single urgent command: run, do not look back, do not stop on the plain, head for the mountains. The Hebrew verb for being swept away carries the sense of being caught up in the destruction that is about to fall on the cities.
