Genesis 19:20 meaning and explanation
Look, there is a town nearby where I can flee, and it is a small place. Please let me flee there—is it not a small place? Then my life will be saved.”
Genesis 19:20, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Lot is speaking to the angel who has just urged him to flee to the mountains before Sodom is destroyed. Lot pleads for a nearby town instead, twice stressing that it is small, perhaps hoping a modest place would be spared or that he could reach it in time.
