Genesis 19:5 meaning and explanation
They called out to Lot, saying, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Send them out to us so we can have relations with them!”
Genesis 19:5, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The men of Sodom surround Lot's house and demand that he hand over his two guests for sexual relations. In the ancient Near East, guests under a host's roof were owed protection, so the demand attacks Lot's honor as well as the strangers.
