Genesis 24:60 meaning and explanation
And they blessed Rebekah and said to her, “Our sister, may you become the mother of thousands upon thousands. May your offspring possess the gates of their enemies.”
Genesis 24:60, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
These words are spoken by Rebekah's family, her brother Laban and her mother, as they send her from Aram-naharaim to marry Isaac in Canaan. Their blessing echoes God's promise to Abraham in Genesis 22:17, that his descendants would be numerous and would possess the gates of their enemies.
