Genesis 31:35 meaning and explanation

Genesis 31:35, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Rachel is Laban's daughter, hiding the household idols she stole from him in her camel's saddlebag and sitting on them as her father searches her tent. Her words about her monthly period explain why she does not rise, and in Israelite custom this also made her ritually unclean, so Laban does not press her further.
