Genesis 49:28 meaning and explanation
These are the tribes of Israel, twelve in all, and this was what their father said to them. He blessed them, and he blessed each one with a suitable blessing.
Genesis 49:28, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jacob, dying in Egypt, has just spoken over each of his twelve sons in turn. This closing verse gathers those sayings into one act of blessing, even though several of them, such as the words to Reuben and to Simeon and Levi, sound more like rebuke than blessing.
