Genesis 6:7 meaning and explanation

So the LORD said, “I will blot out man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—every man and beast and crawling creature and bird of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them.”

Genesis 6:7, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

These words are the LORD's resolve in Noah's day, spoken after He saw that every inclination of the human heart was evil all the time. The grief of the previous verse carries into this verdict: the Creator now says He will blot out the man He made, and with him the beasts, crawling creatures and birds.
