Hebrews 12:21 meaning and explanation
The sight was so terrifying that even Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.”
Hebrews 12:21, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The writer is recalling Israel at Mount Sinai, where God descended in fire, darkness and storm and warned the people not to touch the mountain. Moses, the mediator of that old covenant, is the one speaking here, and the point is striking: even he, who spoke with God face to face, was shaken by the sight.
