Hosea 7:13 meaning and explanation
Woe to them, for they have strayed from Me! Destruction to them, for they have rebelled against Me! Though I would redeem them, they speak lies against Me.
Hosea 7:13, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
God speaks here through Hosea to the northern kingdom of Israel, called Ephraim, in the years before Assyria destroyed it. The verse is a lament, not a curse: God grieves over a people who have wandered from him and rebelled, and he insists he would have redeemed them if they had not answered him with lies.
