For in just a little while My fury against you will subside, and My anger will turn to their destruction.”

Isaiah has just described Assyria as God's rod, the instrument of judgment on a complacent Judah (verses 5 to 6). Now God speaks through the prophet to "My people who dwell in Zion" and tells them not to fear that rod (verse 24).
