For their outcry echoes to the border of Moab. Their wailing reaches Eglaim; it is heard in Beer-elim.
Isaiah 15:8, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Isaiah 15 is a “burden,” a prophetic oracle of judgment, spoken against Moab, Israel’s neighbor east of the Dead Sea. The chapter pictures the whole land collapsing in a single night, from Ar and Kir in the north to Dibon, Nebo and Medeba, with shaved heads, sackcloth and public wailing.
