Isaiah 23:18 meaning and explanation

Yet her profits and wages will be set apart to the LORD; they will not be stored or saved, for her profit will go to those who live before the LORD, for abundant food and fine clothing.

Isaiah 23:18, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Isaiah has just pictured Tyre, the great trading city, restored after seventy years and back at commerce, described as a prostitute hiring herself out to the kingdoms of the earth. Verse 18 turns that image: her profits and wages, in Hebrew probably the word for hire, will be set apart to the LORD.
