Isaiah 28:13 meaning and explanation
Then the word of the LORD to them will become: “Order on order, order on order, line on line, line on line; a little here, a little there,” so that they will go stumbling backward and will be injured, ensnared, and captured.
Isaiah 28:13, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Isaiah is speaking to the priests and prophets of Jerusalem, who have mocked his preaching as baby talk in verses 9 and 10. The Hebrew words rendered "order on order" and "line on line" (saw lasaw, qaw laqaw) are short chiming syllables that likely echo the sound of his message as they heard it.
