Isaiah 33:20 meaning and explanation

Look upon Zion, the city of our appointed feasts. Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful pasture, a tent that does not wander; its tent pegs will not be pulled up, nor will any of its cords be broken.

Isaiah 33:20, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Isaiah 33 speaks to Judah under threat from a ruthless enemy, likely Assyria, whose broken treaty and weeping envoys appear in verses 7 and 8. Against that backdrop the prophet directs the people's eyes to Zion, the city where Israel's appointed feasts were celebrated.
