Isaiah 41:13 meaning and explanation

For I am the LORD your God, who takes hold of your right hand and tells you: Do not fear, I will help you.

Isaiah 41:13, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Isaiah 41 speaks to Judah in exile, a small and powerless people surrounded by the claims of Babylon's gods and the might of empire. In verse 13 the LORD answers the fear of verse 10 with a striking image: the God who made the ends of the earth takes hold of his people's right hand, the hand of strength and action, and steadies it.
