Isaiah 41:9 meaning and explanation

I brought you from the ends of the earth and called you from its farthest corners. I said, ‘You are My servant.’ I have chosen and not rejected you.

Isaiah 41:9, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

God is speaking through Isaiah to Israel in exile, addressing them as Jacob, the servant He chose and the descendants of Abraham His friend. The language of bringing them from the ends of the earth recalls the exodus and the call of Abraham, and it anticipates the return from Babylon.
