Isaiah 47:3, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
In this oracle the LORD speaks through Isaiah against Babylon, the empire that conquered Judah and held God's people in exile. Verse 3 continues the command to "Daughter of Babylon" to strip off her fine clothing and wade through streams like a captive, and the language of exposed nakedness pictures a city humiliated and paraded in defeat, as ancient conquerors did to the conquered.
