Isaiah 5:7 meaning and explanation
For the vineyard of the LORD of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are the plant of His delight. He looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard a cry of distress.
Isaiah 5:7, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Isaiah has just sung a parable about a carefully tended vineyard that produced sour fruit, and here he names the vineyard: the house of Israel, with Judah as the planting God delighted in. The LORD of Hosts is the owner who did everything for his people, yet found bloodshed where he looked for justice and heard a cry of distress instead of righteousness.
