Isaiah 6:8 meaning and explanation
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying: “Whom shall I send? Who will go for Us?” And I said: “Here am I. Send me!”
Isaiah 6:8, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Isaiah has just been cleansed by the coal from the altar, and now he hears the Lord's voice within the temple vision. The question "Whom shall I send?" is not the Lord asking for information but inviting a response, and the plural "Us" has been read by many as a hint of the divine council or of God's own fullness.
