Isaiah 66:24 meaning and explanation
“As they go forth, they will see the corpses of the men who have rebelled against Me; for their worm will never die, their fire will never be quenched, and they will be a horror to all mankind.”
Isaiah 66:24, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Isaiah closes with worshippers going out from the restored city to look on the unburied corpses of those who rebelled against God. In that world an exposed body was the deepest disgrace, and the undying worm and unquenched fire picture corpses that are never fully consumed, an enduring image of shame set beside the promise of new heavens and new earth.
