James 5:14 meaning and explanation
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.
James 5:14, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
James gives practical instruction for the gathered church: a sick member should call the elders, the recognized leaders of the congregation, rather than bear illness alone. They pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord, relying on Jesus' authority rather than the oil's power.
