Jeremiah 14:19 meaning and explanation
Have You rejected Judah completely? Do You despise Zion? Why have You stricken us so that we are beyond healing? We hoped for peace, but no good has come, and for the time of healing, but there was only terror.
Jeremiah 14:19, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
These words come from the people of Judah, or from Jeremiah speaking on their behalf, as drought and the threat of invasion press in. Zion is another name for Jerusalem, the city God chose, so the question is whether rejection means the end of the covenant itself.
