Jeremiah 2:35 meaning and explanation
you say, ‘I am innocent. Surely His anger will turn from me.’ Behold, I will judge you, because you say, ‘I have not sinned.’
Jeremiah 2:35, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jeremiah is speaking God's words to the people of Judah, who have broken covenant through idolatry and injustice. In verse 35 they answer the charges with a flat denial: "I am innocent." They assume God's anger will simply pass, that no reckoning is coming.
