Jeremiah has just announced that King Coniah, also called Jehoiachin, will be pulled off like a signet ring and cast out of the land with his mother, and that none of his descendants will sit on David's throne. In verse 29 the prophet turns from addressing the king to addressing the land itself, repeating "land" three times, a Hebrew way of making a summons urgent and solemn.
