all the mixed tribes; all the kings of Uz; all the kings of the Philistines: Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;

Jeremiah 25:20, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Jeremiah has just taken the cup of the LORD's wrath and is making the nations drink it, beginning with Judah and Jerusalem (verses 17 to 18). Verse 20 continues the list, moving outward to foreign peoples: mixed populations of uncertain identity, the kings of Uz (a region associated elsewhere with Edom and the book of Job), and the Philistine cities of Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron and what remained of Ashdod.
