Jeremiah 29:9 meaning and explanation
For they are falsely prophesying to you in My name; I have not sent them, declares the LORD.”

Jeremiah is writing from Jerusalem to the Judean exiles in Babylon, and in verse 9 the LORD himself speaks through the prophet. The exiles had prophets and diviners among them promising a quick return home, and verse 8 has just warned the people not to be deceived by them.
