Job 16:10 meaning and explanation
They open their mouths against me and strike my cheeks with contempt; they join together against me.
Job 16:10, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Job has just turned from his friends to God, and in this verse the hostility he describes is pictured as a mob closing in on him. The "they" is not named, and the line sits between images of God's anger (verse 9) and God handing him over to unjust men (verse 11), so the attackers may be his friends, a crowd, or God's assault pictured through human gestures.
