Job 37:2 meaning and explanation

Listen closely to the thunder of His voice and the rumbling that comes from His mouth.

Job 37:2, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Elihu, the younger speaker in Job's dialogue, has just described a storm rising in his own heart, and he calls his hearers to listen to the thunder as God's voice. In the poetry of this chapter, the weather itself becomes God's speech: lightning, snow, rain and wind all do His bidding.
