Job 5:19 meaning and explanation
He will rescue you from six calamities; no harm will touch you in seven.
Job 5:19, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
These words belong to Eliphaz, one of Job's friends, who is urging Job to appeal to God and accept correction. The line uses a common Hebrew pattern, naming a number and then adding one to express completeness: six troubles, and even a seventh, will not finally harm the person God protects.
