John 11:10 meaning and explanation

But if anyone walks at night, he will stumble, because he has no light.”

John 11:10, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Jesus speaks these words to His disciples as they hesitate to return to Judea, where He was nearly stoned. His saying about daylight and night is a proverb about timing: a person walking in daylight sees the road, but one walking at night stumbles for lack of light.
