Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, that they may see the glory You gave Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

Jesus is praying in the upper room, shortly before his arrest, and here he turns from asking protection for his disciples to expressing his deepest desire for them. The Greek word translated "I want" (thelÅ) carries the sense of a settled will or longing, not a casual wish.
