Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.”

Jesus speaks these words to Thomas, one of the Twelve, who had missed the risen Lord's first appearance and refused to believe unless he could touch the wounds himself. A week later Jesus comes through locked doors and answers Thomas's demand point by point, inviting him to touch the nail marks and the pierced side.
