After a fruitless night of fishing on the Sea of Tiberias, seven disciples come ashore at dawn to find Jesus standing on the beach with a charcoal fire, fish and bread already prepared. In verse 13 Jesus takes the bread and gives it to them, then does the same with the fish, acting as host at this ordinary meal.
