John 4:14 meaning and explanation
But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life.”
John 4:14, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus is speaking to a Samaritan woman at Jacob's well, and his words answer her request for water that would end her daily trips to the well. The Greek word he uses for the Spirit's gift is pēgē, a spring or fount, not a cistern of still water.
