So he inquired as to the hour when his son had recovered, and they told him, “The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.”

Explanation preview
The royal official from Capernaum had begged Jesus to heal his dying son, and Jesus sent him home with the promise, "Your son will live." Here the man is still on the road when his servants meet him with good news. He asks the hour, and they name the seventh hour, the previous day.
