John 5:30 meaning and explanation
I can do nothing by Myself; I judge only as I hear. And My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
John 5:30, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus is answering Jewish leaders who accused him of breaking the Sabbath and making himself equal with God. Having said the Father gave him authority to judge, he now explains how that authority works: he does nothing on his own and judges only as he hears, so his judgment is just because he seeks the Father's will, not his own.
