John 6:66 meaning and explanation
From that time on many of His disciples turned back and no longer walked with Him.
John 6:66, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus has just said that unless people eat his flesh and drink his blood they have no life in them, and the crowd and even many of his disciples find this unbearable. The Greek word for “turned back” is aperchomai, meaning to go away or depart, and John uses “walked” as a picture of daily following.
