The crowd in the temple courts has just heard Jesus cry out on the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, promising living water to the thirsty. Some call Him the Prophet, others the Christ, while others object that the Christ cannot come from Galilee since Scripture says He comes from David's line in Bethlehem.
