Joshua 14:12 meaning and explanation
Now therefore give me this hill country that the LORD promised me on that day, for you yourself heard then that the Anakim were there, with great and fortified cities. Perhaps with the LORD’s help I will drive them out, as the LORD has spoken.”
Joshua 14:12, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Caleb is speaking to Joshua at Gilgal, reminding him of the promise Moses made forty-five years earlier at Kadesh-barnea. Caleb had been one of the spies who trusted God, and now at eighty-five he asks for the very hill country where the Anakim, a people of great stature, lived in fortified cities.
