In all, thirteen cities, together with their pasturelands, were given to the priests, the descendants of Aaron.

This verse closes the list of towns given to the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who were part of the Kohathite branch of the Levites. In the wider chapter the Levites come to Eleazar, Joshua and the tribal leaders at Shiloh and ask for the cities and pasturelands God had promised through Moses, and the tribes give them towns from their own inheritances.
