Jude 1:19 meaning and explanation
These are the ones who cause divisions, who are worldly and devoid of the Spirit.
Jude 1:19, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jude has just quoted the apostles' warning about scoffers in the last times, and here he identifies such people within the community. The Greek word behind "cause divisions" means those who separate or set boundaries, and Jude calls them worldly, literally "soulish" (psychikoi), meaning governed by natural life rather than by the Spirit.
