Jude is closing his short letter with instructions to a congregation troubled by false teachers. In verse 23 he pictures three responses to people in danger: some are to be pulled out of the fire, as one would snatch a person from a burning building, while others are to receive mercy mixed with fear, and even their clothing, stained by the flesh, is to be hated.
