Lamentations 2:19 meaning and explanation
Arise, cry out in the night from the first watch of the night. Pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to Him for the lives of your children who are fainting from hunger on the corner of every street.

Explanation preview
The speaker in Lamentations 2 is the poet who mourns Jerusalem's destruction by Babylon in 586 BC, and here he turns from describing the ruin to urging the city to pray. The "first watch" is the opening of the night, so the call is to begin the dark hours with crying out.
