Whoever sits on furniture on which the man with the discharge was sitting must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.

In this chapter the LORD instructs Moses and Aaron about ritual purity in Israel's camp, where the tabernacle stood. A man with an ongoing bodily discharge was ceremonially unclean, and uncleanness spread by contact: the furniture he sat on became unclean, and anyone who sat there afterward shared that state.
